Personal Narrative
Jeanette has been with Nicoll Black & Feig since the
firm's start up in September 2004 and worked with many
of the firm's attorneys since 1995 at Cozen O'Connor.
Since the firm's startup, she has supported the
attorneys performing secretarial, paralegal,
bookkeeping, and firm administration tasks. She has over
25 years of experience in the legal field. She has a
degree in Legal Secretarial Studies from Bates Technical
College, an Associate of Arts degree from Seattle
Central Community College, and a B.A. in English, summa
cum laude, from the University of Washington.
Prior to working at Cozen O'Connor, Jeanette worked in
various aspects of the legal field, including working
with two sole practitioners as
bookkeeper/secretary/paralegal, at the King County
Prosecutor's Office in Word Processing, and at the
Pierce County Prosecutor's Office as secretary to the
Chief Criminal and Chief Civil Deputies. She spent six
years at Washington Natural Gas Company working first as
a secretary in the Rates and Legal Departments and later
as a Right of Right of Way Analyst researching property
descriptions. She also has two years' experience temping
at downtown Seattle law firms, including Keller Rohrback,
Miller Nash, K&L Gates, and Betts Patterson. She has
extensive litigation experience in state and federal
court in Washington, Oregon, and California, including
taking cases to trial.
When she is not in the office, among other activities,
she attends writing classes at the Richard Hugo House.
Her poems have published in Arnzella, Bellowing Ark, and
Bricolage, the University of Washington's literary
journal. She also sponsors a child through World Vision.
